Let’s see how to replace the key battery in a Volkswagen Golf VIII: pry open the top side of the remote with a fingernail or a small pointed screwdriver (but be very careful not to slip and scratch the remote’s body), to lift the cover. This way, you can see the battery that needs replacing. It is a common CR2032 battery, which you can easily find at a supermarket or newsagent, costing just a few pounds. When replacing it, ensure to insert it the right way round, as these batteries also have polarity. Once done, simply press the cover back on, and you’re finished.
