In the Volkswagen Polo, the fuel flap may fail to open due to a fault with the actuator, which is a fairly common malfunction. In this case, perform the emergency opening of the flap by following the procedure shown in this tutorial. First, open the boot, then detach the seal on the right side, unscrew the screw located beneath it, and move the plastic panel. Next, locate the actuator, which is the white component, and pull it both upwards and towards you. At this point, the flap will be open, and you can refuel.
