How to repair the fuel filler flap of a Volkswagen Golf VII

The vehicle shown in the video is an E-Golf, but as the YouTuber mentions, the entire procedure can also be applied to a Golf VII, as the mechanism is the same. You will need some plastic clips and a Torx screwdriver size 20, as well as the replacement part, which you can easily find on e-commerce platforms by entering the code VEMO V10-77-0034. The cost is around £20. Start by removing the painted part of the cap. Then remove the screws holding the rubber part in place. Once these are lifted, unscrew them from behind with a ratchet wrench. Now you need to access from the back by partially removing the vehicle's upholstery behind the flap; only from here can you safely access the servomotor, remove it and fit the new one back into its housing, ensuring the connector comes out through the flap. Refit the rubber part, reconnecting the screws from behind with the ratchet wrench. Test the cap mechanism: if everything is in order, you can replace the painted metal part. Now you can close the upholstery parts that you removed. The job is complete.
