To remove the immobiliser chip from inside the key of the Volkswagen Golf 5, detach the top part of the remote from the bottom part by prying it open with an object. This will allow you to unscrew the screw that secures the key and the two halves of the top part of the remote. Once opened, you will locate the immobiliser chip next to the base of the key; after it has been removed from its housing, you can replace it with a new spare part. Finally, reassemble all the components of the remote.
