Emergency Opening of the Boot

Model: Volkswagen Golf MK 5, Golf 5, Golf V - Years 2003-2008

If the boot lock is damaged and cannot be opened using the external handle, access the boot by folding down the rear seat backrest and locating the manual emergency opening mechanism: right at the lock housing, there is a plastic cap with the symbol of the car and the boot open; remove this cap to reach the tab that allows manual unlocking of the lock; once the boot is open, you can proceed with replacing the lock itself.
