How to Diagram and Replace the Timing Belt

First, remove the engine from its housing in the bay. Locate the position of the timing belt and rotate the upper left bolt (as shown in the images) clockwise with a suitable tool to release the tension from the belt, allowing you to remove it. Now, fit the belt onto the new engine using the same method: rotate the bolt clockwise and ensure the belt is properly seated on the various gear wheels. This maintenance operation is performed on a Volkswagen Jetta, but the process is the same for the Volkswagen Jetta.
