Ways to Prevent the Fuses on the Battery of the Volkswagen Golf MK4 (also Jetta/Passat/Bora) from Melting

In this video, you will see some tips to avoid a problem that sometimes occurs: the fuses located physically on the battery melting. This can be prevented in several ways: the first is to check the black cable that goes from the fuse panel to the alternator: if it has been pinched somewhere, the alternator will not receive enough current. The second is to check if the nut securing the black cable on the fuse panel is loose; if so, it needs to be tightened. The third concerns the ring terminal of the black cable holding the nut. If this does not have a perfect contact with the 110 amp fuse, then the end of the cable (or the entire cable) needs to be replaced. In an emergency, you can clean the ring terminal with sandpaper, but this is only a temporary fix until you can get to a service. The fourth possibility: if the 110 amp fuse is oxidised or burnt, replace it with a new one, and also check the smaller 30 amp fuses. Finally, check the voltage regulator of the alternator, which may be causing issues.

How to Connect the Cables to the Battery of the Citroen Xsara Picasso?

In this tutorial, you will see how to connect the cables to the battery of the Citroen Xsara Picasso, useful if you need to recharge it or perform an emergency start. First, ensure the key is not inserted, then open the bonnet and move to the front of the left headlamp. Next, locate the bolt just behind the filter box and connect the positive terminal clamp to it.
