How to Replace the Start Button on a Volkswagen Tiguan

Model: Volkswagen Tiguan 5N, MK 1 - Years 2007-2016

In this video, learn how to replace the Start button on a Volkswagen Tiguan, which does not always function correctly as it needs to be pressed quite firmly. The button is located on the centre console, so first, remove the gear knob surround, which is only held in by pressure. Underneath, there are two Torx screws of size 20. Without needing to remove the gear knob, you can now take out the centre console, which is simply pressed in place, but be careful of the electrical connectors underneath, especially the one for the Start button that you need to disconnect by releasing the small clip inside. Now, pulling from the inside on both sides, you can remove the button and insert the new one. You can easily find it on e-commerce sites, for example, on Amazon with the code B09M43CMXW at a price of £18.99, with free delivery for Prime customers. Reconnect the electrical contact with the button pressed and replace the console. Reinsert the Torx screws and then the gear knob surround. Operation complete.
