How to Change the Fuel Cap Button on a VW Golf

This is such a simple and quick task that it does not require any special tools or mechanical/electrical knowledge. You will only need a flathead screwdriver. First, locate the position of the button in question and use the screwdriver to pry it out. Simply insert the head of the screwdriver into the back edge of the button. By applying a slight lever with the screwdriver head, you will be able to extract the button along with its edge and rear part, where the connector is located. Disconnect the connector to fit the new button.
