How do you reset the Service light on the Volkswagen Passat B6?

In order to reset the Service light of the Volkswagen Passat B6, you need to press and hold the button with the icon of the wrench located to the right of the instrument panel, while the panel is turned off. While still holding down this button, you can insert the ignition key and turn on the instrument panel. Once turned on, you can release the button with the wrench icon and press the one with the "min" label located to the left of the panel: this will completely reset the Service light and you can then turn off the panel.
