In this video, we see how to disassemble the variator belt on the Yamaha T-MAX: we remove the variator with the specific key, inserting the pins into the 4 holes of the variator, then unscrew the central nut with a 29 socket (which could be very tight) counterclockwise. We take the opportunity to check the slider, rollers, and belt wear. We loosen the torque driver, unscrew the torque driver nut with a 27 socket; mark the position with a marker for precise reassembly, and remove the belt. Clean the variator and torque driver, replace the belt with a high-quality one, reassemble the torque driver in the position we had marked, and tighten the central nut. We can close the casing. Use only new gaskets, and be careful not to force the components; if necessary, use WD-40.
