To change the motor oil of a Yamaha R7, start by parking the bike on a flat and stable surface, using a stand to keep it in a vertical position. Before proceeding, make sure the engine is warm, as warm oil flows more easily. Locate the oil drain plug, usually located on the bottom of the engine; unscrew it with a suitable wrench and let the used oil drain completely into a proper container. It is advisable to have a sufficiently large pan to collect all the used oil. Once the oil has stopped dripping, screw the drain plug back in, making sure it is tight to avoid leaks. At this point, locate the oil fill cap, which is usually on the top of the engine. Use a funnel to pour in the new oil, being careful to follow the manual's instructions regarding the type and amount of recommended oil. After filling, start the engine and let it run for a short period to allow the oil to circulate. Finally, check the oil level using the dipstick and make sure there are no visible leaks.

Changing the Oil and Filter on the Kawasaki Versys

Here’s how to change the oil and filter on the Kawasaki Versys. Warm up the engine for a few minutes, place the motorcycle on the centre stand, open the filler cap, and remove the drain plug underneath the engine. Place a catch basin under the oil sump, unscrew the drain plug, and let the oil drain out. Unscrew the oil filter and let all the old oil drain out. Install a new filter and tighten it with the appropriate tool. Pour half a glass of new oil into the filler cap and wait for it to flow out of the drain hole, after which replace the plug. Fill with approximately 1.8 litres of new oil, take it for a short ride to circulate the oil in the engine, stop the engine, and check the level through the designated window. Top up if necessary.
