Descriptive guide for replacing the engine oil, oil filter of a Yamaha XT660. Get 3LT of Motul 7100 sae 10w40 oil, HIFLO HF145 oil filter. Place the motorcycle on the side stand. Start the engine, allow the engine to reach temperature and stop. Place a container for the recovery of the oil to be disposed of under the engine. Unscrew the oil drain plug in front of the engine with a ratchet and a 13mm socket. Let the oil drain and carefully clean the cap. Unscrew the three screws of the filter cover, located on the right side, with a ratchet and Allen key of 4. Remove the oil filter with pliers and replace it with the new one. Open the oil filler neck located in front of the tank on the underside. Pour in the oil referring to the dipstick. Start the engine for a minute and turn it off. Check the oil level again.
