This guide shows how to perform the engine oil change on a Yamaha YZF R6. After securing the bike, unscrew the fastening bolts of the left lower fairing. Remove the 10 mm bolts from the clutch bracket to access the oil drain plug. With a 17 mm spanner, unscrew the oil tank cap, then unscrew the drain plug; position a container to collect the used oil. At this point, remove the engine oil filter using a socket wrench. Lubricate the seal of the new filter and fit it in position. Close the drain plug and top up with new oil. Start the engine for a few minutes and check the fluid level; top up if necessary.
