The faulty sensor gave a false reading that caused the transmission's hydraulic pressure to drop, which caused the car to slow down or falter unexpectedly. If transmission problems exist, they are easily identifiable: shifting delays, jumps or screeching when accelerating, the car shaking on the road, or a burning smell or whistling sound coming from under the hood.
