To replace the cabin filter on the Subaru Ascent, open the glove compartment on the passenger side: once the compartment is open, locate the two side clips that secure it. After detaching these clips, remove the glove compartment to access the filter cover.

Detach the cover and pull the filter out of its housing.

After removing the old filter, insert the new one, then reattach the cover and the glove compartment.
