To replace the cabin air filter on a Subaru Ascent, open the glove compartment located on the passenger side to release the internal fastening clips. This will allow you to remove the glove compartment from its housing and then detach the cover at the back.

Under this cover, you will find the cabin air filter that needs to be pulled out from its housing and replaced with a new one. After the replacement, reinstall all the components that were removed.
