How to Replace the Oil and Oil Filter on the Acura TLX

To replace the oil and oil filter on the Acura TLX, start by removing the upper engine cover, unscrew the oil filler cap; now go under the car, unscrew the oil drain plug, and let the oil drain into a container; while the oil drains, unscrew the oil filter with a special wrench and let the oil drain into the same container; after the oil from the filter has drained, clean the oil drain plug seat and the oil filter seat; take the new oil filter, pour some new oil into it, screw it back into its seat, and reattach the oil drain plug. Once the drain plug and oil filter are secured, go back to the top of the car, insert a funnel into the oil filler hole, pour in the specified quarts from the manufacturer, and when you are close to the indicated quarts, check the level with the dipstick (the level should be checked the second time you pull out the dipstick), if the oil level is at the "max" mark, the operation is complete; otherwise, top off as needed.
