How to repair the external temperature sensor on an Alfa Romeo Giulietta

The youtuber noticed that the external temperature sensor of his Alfa Romeo Giulietta was not working properly, so he decided to check it. In this car, like many others, the sensor is located inside the driver's side rearview mirror: he then removed the mirror glass, and partially unscrewed the cover, without removing it. The problem was with the wiring: evidently it was a recurring issue, as it had already been repaired before; he then proceeded to cut and protect the wires with heat-shrink tubing, and indeed the sensor started working properly. He then put it back in place, closed the cover, and put the mirror glass back in place.
