How to Remove the Ignition Switch (Steering Lock) on the Alfa Romeo 147

Model: Alfa Romeo 147 MK 1 - Years 2000-2010

In this video tutorial, you will see the steps to remove the ignition cylinder, and thus the steering lock, on an Alfa Romeo 147, as well as on the 156 and GT. First, get inside the vehicle and start by removing the steering wheel; to do this, unscrew the two fixing screws located at the back to remove the airbag, disconnecting the electrical connector as shown in the video: then unscrew the central bolt using a socket spanner with an extension to remove the steering wheel. At this point, disconnect the ignition electrical connectors and break the steering lock pins by tapping with a punch.
