A clean engine air filter allows the engine to unleash its full power without hesitation, as it ensures all the air it needs. That said, in the case of the Alfa Romeo 147, the filter box is not easily accessible but is located on the gearbox, underneath the battery compartment; to reach it, you will need to remove the battery, the supporting frame, and the fuse box. Only then will you have access to the filter box, where you can open the cover latches to extract the old filter and insert the new one: during the filter replacement, you can also clean the mass air flow sensor.
