To check the status of the fuses in the Audi A3's electrical system, you need to know the location of the two fuse boxes. One box is located in the dashboard on the left side of the steering column, covered by a push-fit door, near the headlight controls.

The other is in the engine bay, on the driver's side, between the battery and the side panel, covered by a black plastic lid, which contains a handy tweezers for removing the fuses. To identify the fuse you need, consult the diagram in the owner's manual.
