In this video we can see firsthand the importance of checking the timing belt, before the usual 10 years or 180,000 km established in this case by the timing of the Audi A4: in fact, the example car is only eight years old and has just over 100,000 km, yet, after removing the cover, we can see that the belt is already full of grime, the water pump is starting to leak, the bearings are losing grease, and the belt already has cracks. This happens when many short trips are made, because the belt wears out more when there are many starts. Furthermore, we can see that the radiator is very dirty, and could have overheated quickly due to the excess of dirt.

How to Top Up the Radiator Fluid on Mercedes Vito

Learn how to top up the fluid in the cooling radiator reservoir on a Mercedes Vito yourself to save on labour costs. First, pull the plastic lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, lift the bonnet and secure it with the metal prop. Locate the cap for topping up the fluid in the radiator reservoir (unscrew it). Using a funnel, top up with screen wash fluid and close the reservoir cap. Close the engine cover after maintenance. Test the correct functioning of the maintenance performed previously.
