In this video we can see how to replace the DRL module, that is the module for daytime running lights, on the Audi A3 8V. On this car, like on many modern cars, the daytime running lights are a LED strip, but the shape of this strip is very different from what we imagine. In fact, there is a plate at one end, with three small LEDs, that shoot the light into a tube. These LEDs over time lose their white light, becoming first yellowish and then decidedly orange. We can find them aftermarket - the original Audi ones cost a lot - for example on xenonpertutti.com with the code 8V0998473 at the price of 49.00 euros + 6.90 euros for shipping. You just have to remove three small screws, and apply some thermal paste before screwing the new plate back on.
