Other functionalities also stop working. The user's attempts to reset (MMI reset, holding the SOS button, leaving the car off overnight) have not worked. The problem is often caused by a dead auxiliary battery; checking the status of the main battery can also help, as the system is very sensitive. Next, attempt a deep reset by disconnecting the battery terminals for at least 30 minutes (but you will lose many settings that will need to be re-entered). Check the "telematics" or "eCall" fuse. Sometimes a firmware update is necessary, or the antenna may be damaged: in these cases, a visit to the dealer is required.
