Detailed instructions - Let's see how to unlock a fuel door that is stuck on an Audi Q5: open the trunk and look for the panel on the right side (the fuel side), a small panel. Rotate the release lever and slide it away; behind it, you will find a red cable, which is the emergency release. Lift the cable and pull it firmly, but not violently. You should hear a "click" and the fuel door will open outside. If the release does not work (as in the video), the YouTuber used a drastic solution: with pliers, he grabbed and completely pulled out the locking mechanism (the one with the spring), thus removing the internal spring that held the mechanism in place, and reinstalled the fuel door without the locking mechanism. Therefore, the fuel door closes mechanically, but opens simply by pulling it with a finger.
