Before you can begin, press the button located on the upper section of the key for your Audi A4 to extract and remove the physical key from inside the electronic key. Start by dislodging and extracting the battery section of the key. This will give you access to the exhausted battery.

Proceed by dislodging it from its housing.

Once you complete this step, you can fully remove the battery, and disassembly will be finished. To install the new battery and close the key, just follow this brief procedure in reverse, and you will have completed the replacement.
