Replacing Exhaust Manifold Gasket

Model: Audi A6 MK 2, C5 - Years 1997-2004
Part: Engine

In this type of six-cylinder engine, there are two exhaust manifolds, one for each bank of three cylinders, and the gasket consists of six elements, each of which must be placed in line with the corresponding exhaust port. After thoroughly cleaning the gasket seating on both the cylinder head and manifold sides, removing any dirt and buildup, install the gasket elements and then the manifold, tightening the respective mounting nuts using a torque wrench. Repeat the same procedure on the other bank.
