If you experience problems with the performance of the engine, excessive smoke and sometimes even difficulty in the starting phase, then it is likely that there is a problem with the EGR valve clogging. This valve is applied right at the inlet of the intake manifold and is connected to the exhaust manifold through a flanged duct: its function is to introduce part of the exhaust gases back into the intake; the constant contact with the exhaust gases and the probable oil leaks cause it to become dirty. Then proceed with the disassembly of the EGR valve by first removing the shut-off valve (it has the shape of a throttle body and is connected to the intercooler sleeve) and then also disassembling the intake manifold; thoroughly clean both the valve and the manifold and then reinstall everything in reverse order.
