Throttle Body Replacement Instructions

Model: Audi A6 MK 3, C6 - Years 2004-2012

Start by removing the plastic cover located above the engine and locate the throttle body, which is just behind the alternator, connected to the intake manifold, in front of the EGR valve. Then, remove the retaining clip that secures the hose from the intercooler, disconnect the connector, and unscrew the mounting bolts to remove the throttle body; proceed in reverse for the installation of the new throttle body (you can also opt for a remanufactured one).
The common causes of throttle body failure are usually: the breakage of the plastic gears that operate the throttle plate, wear of the potentiometer that controls its position, or failure of the actuator motor.
