How to Replace the Alternator on an Audi A6?

Before you can replace the alternator on the Audi A6, open the trunk by lifting the carpet at the base and disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery. At this point, open the hood to locate the serpentine belt on the left side of the engine block: by removing the belt, you will be able to access the alternator, which must be freed from its mount by unscrewing the mounting bolts and disconnecting the power cables. Once the old alternator is removed, you can install the new one and reassemble all the removed parts.
