When the key battery warning light appears on the Audi A3 instrument panel, it means the battery needs to be replaced: replacing it will make the warning light disappear completely. To replace the remote battery, use an object to pry off the cover on the back of the remote.

Underneath, you will find the battery, which can be removed from its housing and replaced with a new spare part; after the replacement, check that the warning light has been reset.
