To replace the internal rear view mirror of the Audi A3, you need to lever with an object to detach the internal retaining clips that hold the mirror in its housing: once it is detached from its seat, you can disconnect the connector underneath connected to the mirror.

Once this is also disconnected, you can completely remove the mirror from its seat, insert the new replacement piece: this must be connected to the connector and secured in its place with the appropriate clips.
