To change the motor oil of a BMW R1200GS, start by lifting the motorcycle with a center stand or a stable platform to ensure adequate access to the engine. Place a container under the engine to collect the used oil. Remove the oil drain plug located at the bottom of the engine and let the used oil drain completely. Once the oil has fully drained, reinstall the drain plug and tighten it properly. At this point, fill the engine with new oil through the filling tube, which is usually located on the top of the engine. Make sure to use the type and amount of oil recommended by the manufacturer. After filling the oil, start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to circulate the new oil, then turn it off and check for any leaks. Finally, check the oil level and add more if necessary. Once the check is complete, make sure to dispose of the used oil and waste materials safely and in compliance with environmental regulations.
