To change the engine oil of a BMW R1200GS, start by lifting the bike with a centre stand or a stable platform to ensure adequate access to the engine. Place a container under the engine to collect the used oil. Remove the oil drain plug located at the bottom of the engine and allow the used oil to drain completely.

After the oil has fully drained, reinstall the drain plug and tighten it properly. At this point, fill the engine with new oil through the filler tube, which is usually located at the top of the engine.

Ensure you use the type and quantity of oil recommended by the manufacturer. After filling the oil, start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to circulate the new oil, then turn it off and check for any leaks.

Finally, check the oil level and add more if necessary. Once the check is complete, ensure you dispose of the used oil and waste materials safely and in accordance with environmental regulations.
