BMW Serie 3 - Video tutorial

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006
Part: Window motor
Operation: Front window lifter motor replacement

Damage to the sliding pads of the window lifter system in any case requires the replacement of the entire system. With a small plastic lever, remove the rectangular plug in front of the handle of the internal handle and those positioned immediately under the armrest. Then unscrew the screws present under the caps just removed. Using the same plastic lever, unclip the panel molding and unscrew the other two screws present. At this point, release the pressure clips along the edges of the panel and pull it upwards to remove it from the scraper gasket; then disconnect the opening cable and the sockets connected to the speakers and remove the panel. Therefore, unscrew the fixing screws of the side airbag: to release the airbag detonator socket, first raise the safety catch. Then detach the sound-absorbing panel and remove it. Lower the window until the pins of the glass fixing claws are aligned with the key access holes inside the door. Loosen the pins of the window fixing claws and remove it. Unhook the socket connected to the window lifter motor and unscrew all the fixing pins of the window lifter system and remove it from the door. Then remove the motor from the old window lifter system and apply it to the new one which can therefore be installed in the door and fixed with the relative pins. Connect the socket to the motor and position the glass fixing claws as done previously; then insert the glass into the guides and tighten the fixing pins of the jaws; reconnect the sockets and reassemble what was previously removed.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
