How to Reset the Service Light on a BMW X5?

To clear the Service light displayed on the instrument cluster of the BMW X5, turn on the ignition by inserting the key into the ignition switch: once the display is on, press and hold the button on the lower left of the cluster to bring up the menu.

By pressing the same button repeatedly, scroll through the various options until you select the one related to maintenance: hold the button until "RESET?" appears.

At this point, release and then immediately press the button again to clear the light.
