BMW Z3 - Video tutorial

Model: BMW Z3 MK 1 - Years 1995-2002
Part: Shock absorbers
Operation: Replacement of exhausted rear shock absorbers

Only an 18 socket wrench is required for this operation. Unscrew the three bolts that hold the shock absorber on the frame. Place the car on the bridge, remove the wheel and unscrew the nut that holds one end of the shock absorber to the chassis of the car and then the one on the arm. First, however, effectively tie up the entire suspension arm block so that it does not fall during the operation. Pull the arm guard retaining pins out of the suspension using a size 18 ratchet wrench, then remove the spent suspension. Attach the new shock absorber to the base and then to the frame. Carry out a road test to verify correct operation.
