Cleaning the Throttle Body of a Car
Model: BMW Serie 5
E39
- Years 1995-2003
The throttle body is a mechanical component that regulates the airflow into the combustion chamber. It is located within the fuel system. A malfunction can severely damage the engine. To begin maintenance, turn off the engine, lift the hood, and wait for the car to cool completely. Disconnect the intake hose that allows a small amount of air to pass through the throttle body to provide the engine with the right amount of air it needs to operate. Clean the throttle body seat, paying special attention to removing the old gasket.
