First, open the front door on the driver's side and start by removing the plastic cover located under the steering wheel by unscrewing the side screws; then disconnect the cable from the hood release lever.

At this point, pull out the sheath and the cable that runs to the hood release, replacing it with the new cable; then route the new cable and attach it to the internal lever.
