Throttle Body Actuator Replacement

Model: BMW Serie 5 E61, E60 - Years 2003-2010

To replace the throttle body, remove all covers on and around the cylinder head. Disconnect the connectors from the sensors on the hoses connecting the intake ducts to the passages on the cylinder head. Next, remove the air filter boxes and the flexible connections attached to the cover; repeat this operation for both the right and left banks. To remove the cover on the cylinder head, unscrew two screws located underneath it, using an extension or a T-wrench if you do not have a power screwdriver. Then, remove the air filter box from the cabin to access two screws of the strut bar located under this compartment, which secures the cover. If necessary, clean the compartments. At this point, remove the strut bar and pull off the cylinder head cover, releasing the plastic clips. Disconnect all supply and return hoses from the cover located above the support between the two banks, being careful to disconnect the connectors. The throttle actuator is located at the front of the right bank: once the connector is removed, unscrew the screws securing it to the cylinder head and pull it out, applying force on the support between the banks. Before reassembling, clean the air intake ports on the cylinder head of any harmful impurities. Then, proceed to reassemble the removed parts, paying special attention due to the delicacy of the operation performed.
