Instructions for Removing Ignition Coils

Model: BMW Serie 5 E39 - Years 1995-2003
Part: Ignition coil

Perform this maintenance with the engine cold. To access the ignition coils, first remove the protective cover; once the cover is removed, the coils are clearly visible. Disconnect each power connector by releasing the lock on each connector: lifting the lock will automatically disconnect the connector. After disconnecting the connectors, unscrew the mounting bolts of each coil and remove them along with the boot by pulling them upward to access the spark plugs. Repeat the same steps on the other bank of cylinders: before unscrewing and removing the spark plugs, blow into the seats to remove any debris that could fall into the cylinders. Proceed in reverse for the installation of the new spark plugs, screwing them in by hand without exceeding the torque specification, then insert the boot, securing the ignition coil with the screws and reconnecting the connector.

How to Remove the Front Brake Rotor on a BMW X3

Let's see how to remove the front brake rotor on a BMW X3. Position your car on a column lift and raise it to a comfortable height for working. Loosen the bolts with a socket wrench or air drill and remove the wheel, then start loosening the bolts of the brake caliper to detach it from the bracket, using a screwdriver to remove the brake pads. Now remove the caliper bracket and loosen the bolts on the brake rotor (using a Torx screwdriver), pull the rotor towards you to slide it off the wheel hub. Install the new brake rotor with all the associated bolts, tighten the caliper bracket to the rotor and the brake pads, then install the brake caliper, making sure to tighten all the bolts securely. Before mounting the wheel, bleed the brake caliper and then tighten the bolt. Finally, install the wheel with the bolts.
