Resetting the service light on the BMW 5 Series, model E60, is done after performing the maintenance service; then you can proceed with the reset. The first step to perform the reset is to press the button to reset the trip odometer to access the menu.

The second step is to scroll through the menu until you reach the maintenance light, then hold the button until the reset message appears. The third and final step is to press the button again to confirm and wait a few seconds.
