If your car's muffler starts making strange noises, it's time to replace it. Once you are underneath the vehicle, you can immediately assess the condition and damage to your muffler. If the hole causing the noise is small, after sanding the muffler with fine-grit sandpaper, you will notice it right away, and you can simply seal it with sealant.

If you want to remove it, you will need to loosen the clamp found between the connecting pipe and the pipe leading to the car's manifold.
