Replacing Car Shock Absorbers

Model: BMW X5 E53 - Years 1999-2006
Part: Shocks

If your car has traveled more than one hundred thousand miles, you need to replace the shock absorbers. They serve to dampen the vehicle's bumps and increase safety while taking a turn. This is a procedure you can do without going to your trusted mechanic. Lift one side of the car and remove the wheel with a jack. At this point, open the hood by pulling the appropriate lever and remove all four screws located above the shock absorber. Next, remove the two screws on the half-shaft and the one on the stabilizer parallel to the shock absorber. The shock absorber will come out on its own.
