In this video, see how to set the time on a BMW 3 Series E46: it is a very simple operation done with the button/dial located on the right side of the tachometer. The time is displayed on the small red LED display between the speedometer and the tachometer.

To change the time, press the button/dial until the current time disappears and a series of dots appears in its place: then, using the dial function, turn to set the desired time (you can set the time in either 12 or 24-hour format), and then by pressing the button, move to the minutes where you will repeat the operation.
