Intermittent overheating problem of a Citroen C3

In this video we see a Citroen C3 with a Puretech engine, where for once the problem was not the oil-soaked belt, but the fan. The car was overheating intermittently, especially in stationary or low-speed conditions. The YouTuber noticed a physical blockage at the cooling fan: a clamp stuck between the fan blades, preventing it from rotating! Obviously, the fan showed signs of wear due to prolonged rubbing. Fortunately, other engine components, such as the belt and water pump, did not suffer from this problem, as well as the coolant level. The fuse was intact, but the fan motor was burnt out, as was the fan control resistor. It was therefore necessary to replace the fan and the resistor. Both parts can be found on eBay: the fan with code 127153954842 for 77.16 euros + 3.10 euros for shipping, while the complete wiring resistor with code 326321994548 for 29.90 euros + 4.90 euros for shipping. The stuck clamp caused abnormal stress on the fan motor, burning it out. The resistor was damaged because it tried to turn the fan despite the obstacle. Fortunately, the engine did not suffer any damage! We should find out who left a tool in the engine and ask them to pay for the damages!
