How to repair the power steering pump of the Citroen Jumpy

Let's see how to repair the electric power steering pump of the Citroen Jumpy, which stops working due to oil leaks or an electronic error. We will need: a drill with a 4/5 mm bit, a multimeter, rags and solvent, and protective gloves. Check the main connector of the pump CAN-H (2.5 V) and CAN-L (2.2 V): these are the voltages we need to read with the multimeter. There should be a 12V voltage present. If the connector is oily, the pump has a damaged internal gasket, so we will need to make a small hole in the bottom of the pump (where the oil accumulates; be careful not to damage the internal components!) and let the excess oil drip out. Now disconnect the battery, as we will be working on the wires, and clean the connectors with an electronic solvent, or isopropyl alcohol. Reconnect everything and start the car, checking if the power steering starts working again: if so, the pump is still usable, but we need to monitor it; if not, we will need to replace it; in any case, this is a temporary repair.
