How to Change Oil and Filter on a Dacia Logan 1 Petrol

To change the oil and filter on a Dacia Logan 1 petrol, follow this method: first, start the engine for a few minutes to thin the oil, then switch it off. Raise the car with a jack and place a container under the sump. Unscrew the drain plug with a socket spanner, being cautious of hot oil. Allow it to drain completely for at least 10 minutes. Meanwhile, remove the old oil filter using a chain or strap wrench. Clean the filter seat and apply a thin layer of oil to the gasket of the new filter before screwing it in by hand (then tighten by half a turn). Refit the drain plug with a new gasket and tighten without forcing. Refill with the recommended oil (about 3.5 litres), checking the level with the dipstick. Start the engine for 30 seconds, switch off, and recheck the level. Add oil if necessary. Dispose of used oil and the filter properly at an authorised centre.
