How to change the battery of a 500 key? Let's see how to open the remote for the 500. Press the release button on the metal key. Once the metal key pops out, use a screwdriver to unscrew the screw located in the key cover (in the space where the key fits). Replace the battery in the key with a small screwdriver. Secure the battery in the plastic and then insert it back into the plastic key. Check the remote's functionality by pressing the buttons. Replace the battery with one of the same size and voltage.
