How to Replace the Front Electric Window Regulator on the Fiat Punto

This guide shows how to remove the electric window regulator from the front passenger seat of the Fiat Punto. The first step is to remove the inner door panel; to do this, unscrew all the fastening screws and the switch panel holder. Next, using plastic levers, apply pressure on the edge of the panel to detach it completely. Be careful with the lock cable and the audio connector, both must be disconnected. Now, detach the part of the soundproofing cover; keep this piece as it will be needed during reassembly. To remove the window regulator, raise the glass and unscrew the three fastening bolts and the electrical connector of the part; the mechanism can now be removed. This part is readily available from a scrap yard, online, or from an authorised dealer. Before reassembling the new part, grease the sliding components. Before inserting the part into the door, detach the red plastic part to align the hole on the glass with the window motor; reattach the red plastic part; tighten and secure the bolts of the regulator. At this point, reconnect the power to the motor. Reposition the soundproofing panel with double-sided tape, reattach the audio connector and the lock cable, and reassemble the door panel. Follow the steps in reverse to secure the panel. The replacement is complete.
